The intimate space is a sanctuary in multiple senses, deeply interwoven with the artist's own life experiences. It serves as the silent foundation upon which daily life unfolds, yet because of its extreme familiarity, it often slips into invisibility—overlooked and taken for granted. Depicting intimate space is a way of returning to lived reality in an era dominated by technical images, exploring the infinite richness of the visible world, while expressing and defending the individual self through introspection. At the same time, it is an expectant listening for the self-revelation of the invisible, and a rethinking of the divine measure of dwelling.
In this series of works, in addition to my ongoing exploration of the home, I will also incorporate the temporary dwellings from my travels, studies, and artist residencies across various countries. Through these works, I seek to probe the fluid possibilities of intimate space in its broader sense. The intimacy of a space derives not only from the physical realm but is, perhaps more importantly, a spiritual construct—the notion that "where the heart finds peace, there is home."
